Russian Theremin School is the only authentic theremin school in the world. Our mission is to develop and maintain the approach of Lev Theremin and his students.
The tradition of the school goes back to the classes that Lev Theremin established himself.
Since 1920 – he became not only the inventor of the theremin but also the first thereminist and the first theremin teacher.
Among the students of Lev Theremin were such thereminists as Konstantin Kovalsky, Lucie Rosen, Clara Rockmore, Lennington Shewell, Julliette Shaw, George Goldberg and etc.
In master classes of Lev Theremin took part
Vladimir Lenin, Albert Einstein, Leopold Stokovsky and others.
Our approach and methodology allow you to get quickly the right theremin playing skills. To play your first melody is not so difficult as it seams.
In the world, there are a lot (thousands) of theremin owners, and at the same time, there are not so many people who more or less adequately play the theremin. Often this is a consequence of self-learning and fixing the wrong skills.
All this can be avoided if you take even the most basic and very fist theremin course in our school.
We have been teaching the theremin since 1920
Theremin School is a unique multidisciplinary educational project for children and adults. We have lessons for adults and children in the format of regular classes, courses, workshops at festivals and educational institutions
In addition to individual lessons, we offer the course “Theremin in 24 hours” – a ten-day intensive on theremin, the course was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
For beginners on their journey with the theremin, we recommend the course “Theremin, go” – this is a four-day theremin intro intensive, in which the participant will receive basic knowledge.
The programs of Russian Theremin School took place throughout Russia – from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.
Also, workshops of our School were held in Paris, Minsk, and Tartu.
The theremin is a real symbol of the combination of the science and the art – physics becomes part of musical culture and gives the world a new musical instrument.
The curator of the School is Natasha Theremin pianist, theremin teacher, theremin performer, daughter and associate of Lev Theremin, participant of the international festivals of electro-acoustic music, a pioneer in the development of new theremin playing techniques .
The head of the School is Peter Theremin, theremin performer, lecturer, researcher of theremin history, great-grandson of Lev Theremin. Peter Theremin gave more than 1000 lectures and hundreds of theremin workshops in various cities of Russia
